Small Business Web Design Sites That Use The Free Toolset

Small Business Web DesignHere are a couple of minimalist websites that cover the topic of web design for small business using the free toolset and hosting. There are a plethora of these sites around, but they have half way decent content and provide links to more substantial resources for the visitor.

The layout is OK, with all the content on the home page.

One hopes the authors add some more interesting content to these sites to make sure the visitor gets a good experience. I suspect they are in their infancy, and will get added to over time.

Nevertheless, the first is called “Small Business Website Design” and the second it called “Your Small Business Web Design“. Check ‘em out, and see what you think.

Given they’re in their infancy, I’ll rank them 3 stars out of 5.

A Great Looking Weebly Pro Website

Here is an example of a website that has been built with Weebly pro toolset and it looks fabulous. The slightly washed out sepia look really works with their business of photography.

The navigation is excellent, and the site delivers its information without clutter.

The scrolling on the front page to highlight current specials is good thinking, giving the visitor an incentive to look further.

Lots of engaging examples of their work. Give it 4.8 stars out of 5.

Options with Weebly Websites

There is a pro (which stands for “paid”) subscription to Weebly, which offers some additional features. Whether you go this way is dependent on a number of things. But in my opinion, the free version is going to let a lot of people get their presence online for next to nothing and without a huge investment in money.

You can read about the pricing structure by clicking here.

Weebly does offer an easy menu-driven drag and drop for building websites. Does that justify the premium price tag? Don’t dismiss looking at large web hosting organisations like HostGator. Here you can do what you like with your website design. The downside? It is a much steeper learning curve, as you will have to come to grips with installing and configuring web software like WordPress.

Worth looking into.
